A SYMPHONY DYED BLUE

Inspired by 'River Blue', the documentary focusing on some of the world's most polluted rivers which are damaged due to the factory's chemical dyes. Vatanajyankur's body acts as the metal machine, spinning the yarns within a pool of toxic water filled with shades of denim dyes and white foam.

This work is a collaboration between the artist and Central Department Store which is showcasing within 'Voidscape', a virtual reality world focusing on environmental, social and labour issues in the near future.

'A Symphony Dyed Blue' is a video-only installation work with sounds of the ocean and opera vocals (sung by Pimdao Panichsamai). The video work is created for a site-specific installation inside the Catherine Tofts' opera room at Palazzo Mangili-Valmarana in Venice, Italy.
